The actual murder event was ever so discreet, tucked in between two paragraphs in plain sight that will always be missed on an initial read. A man may labor and toil to attain a certain kind of leisure in retirement. There is no one to say, you know Socrates, that Republic you built, where all chrietie pieces have to fit together just right, and all the people are lambs who do what they’re told — it’s BS, and you know it’s BS, don’t you? Just goes to show that it is very hard to do one of these untrusted narrator things in film.
