Given that Alex is imprisoned and the story is told from Mary’s perspective, you would expect that she would be filled with terror and distressed by her own helplessness, and maybe she was, but I never felt that in the story, unfortunately.

I would give this a 2. Character development was well done, and the story moved at a good pace. Mar 17, Joan rated it really liked it. This second book, the sequel to Kilgannon, was much better than the first. Most of the book dealt with the aftermath of the failed ’15 Jacobite uprising.

If there was a sequel, I’d read it. I also enjoyed Alex and Mary’s romance. It just missed for me.

The Wild Rose of Kilgannon (Kilgannon, #2) by Kathleen Givens

Trivia About The Wild Rose of The heroine was so dumb and boring, could not comprehend anything she was told. I didn’t enjoy this book as much as On a Highland Shore.

Surprisingly, it is not in print either. I don’t know if I would’ve liked kligannon one as much. Fantastisches Buch und Autorin, ich bin unendstraurig das sie bereits im Jahr verstorben ist. View all 4 comments.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. I really like the main characters, Mary and Alex, and so I could forgive the fact that in this book a lot happened while at the same time nothing happened.

It was slow and confusing in parts where it directly referenced something I was not privy to.
